This one's for Martin or someone else if he doesn't want it.
The director of the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration told the Automotive News World Congress that he wouldn't let one of his kids into an SUV even if it was the last car on Earth. Then he told McCain and the Senate during a truck-safety hearing (also) that he wanted to make changes to SUV regulations that would likely force them to become much smaller or much more fuel-efficient.
There's been plenty of reaction to the comments and plans, but the attention paid wasn't very prominent. The hosts of Car Talk (also) on NPR applauded Runge on Saturday morning and also a bit of coverage on 60 Minutes in mid-January.
I'm sure you've got plenty to say on this.
It's also always nice to praise someone every once in a while.

I'm going to try using this as a means of keeping in touch with the Opinion staff, putting out ideas, submitting stories, etc. Also as a pro-Blogger propaganda tool.
